Relationships shape our foundations; holding the potential to provide our greatest joys and most significant challenges. The impact of these relationships is woven into every experience. Ben believes that exploring these connections with openness and curiosity is at the heart of personal growth and lasting healing. It takes bravery to look inward with compassion and honesty, but the rewards of this work can be immense. Whether you’re looking for individual therapy, support in your relationship(s), or help navigating family challenges, Ben is eager to uplift your inherent empathetic power and help you find greater access to your capacity for healing.

Ben completed his Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy at Iona University. A native of the Boston area, he’s lived in Vermont, Idaho, and California, but New York has been his home since 2013. Originally drawn here pursuing the performing arts, followed by over a decade working in hospitality, his curiosity for human engagement in all its forms inspires his work as a therapist. From an early age he was energized to understand the emotional lives of those around him and found his peace and happiness in the outdoors. On his days off he can be found surfing, enjoying a new cooking project, getting out of the city for a hike, or spending some down time with a good show. The diversity of his interests and passion for excitement has led to his belief that a life of wellbeing embraces both responsibility and pleasure.

Ben is motivated by curiosity and kindness. His approach to working with individuals, partners, and families is through a trauma-informed, humanistic lens influenced by Narrative Therapy and Experiential Therapies, including Internal Family Systems. He embraces an LGBTQIA+ affirming, and sex and kink positive paradigm, understanding that those in marginalized communities have faced unique challenges navigating their identity. Ben draws from his training and lived experience to address your challenges with unconditional positive regard, collaborate with you on your path of healing, and help deepen your connection with yourself and in your relationships.

Marriage & Family Therapist

Marriage & Family Therapist

In Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), the unit of treatment isn’t just the person – even if only a single person is interviewed – it is the set of relationships in which the person is embedded. MFTs take a holistic perspective to health care; they are concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families.

Marriage and Family Therapists are mental health professionals trained in psychotherapy and family systems and licensed to assess and treat mental and emotional disorders. They do so within the context of all relationship structures including marriage, couples and family systems. Marriage and family therapists treat a wide range of serious clinical problems including: depression, marital problems, anxiety, individual psychological problems, and child-parent problems.

After receiving treatment, almost 90% of clients report an improvement in their emotional health, and nearly two-thirds report an improvement in their overall physical health. A majority of clients report an improvement in their functioning at work.
