Liv sees therapy as a partnership, with both therapist and client bringing something important to the work. Her style is active and collaborative. She brings curiosity, clinical knowledge, and an outside perspective; her clients bring an understanding of their own lives that no one else can have. Together, they use those different kinds of knowledge in service of the client’s goals.

In practice, that means Liv asks questions, notices patterns, pauses when something catches her attention, and pays close attention to the words people use and what they mean by them.

Liv’s approach is rooted in the idea that none of us exists in a vacuum; our relationships, communities, and environments shape how we see ourselves, make decisions, and connect with other people. Because of that, she is interested not only in what feels difficult, but also in what helps people feel more grounded and able to meet those difficulties. sees therapy as a partnership, with both therapist and client bringing something important to the work.
