Our relationships impact the way we treat ourselves. Moments in our upbringing or adult life that felt affirming or caused hurt reinforce behaviors and teach us how to be in future relationships.
Transforming the patterns that no longer serve us in our relationships takes great courage, but the joy is in the process of intentionality.
Together, we can work towards greater acceptance of a self-image that is not tainted by the preferences of others, and build connections with more authenticity.
My practice is grounded in humanistic approaches that use mindfulness to reduce stress and incorporate solution-focused frameworks to help clients reach their goals. As a systemic practitioner, I utilize a biopsychosocial model of mental health shifting patterned behaviors learned in relationships to help alleviate problems.
I draw from my training and lived expertise that spans an intersectionality of faiths and cultures with an emphasis on the challenges couples and families face.
As an immigrant, I am passionate about working with BIPOC, LGBT+, and Asian-American populations. Together, let us build a safe therapeutic relationship and empower you to step towards your potential today.
Outside of therapy, I love testing out different Asian recipes in my kitchen. I also enjoy baking (currently on cookies), connecting with nature, playing video games, and hosting boardgame nights with friends. I am a proud “guncle” to a dachshund, a Pomshi, and a Kunekune, all of whom I adore dearly.
